i don't know wii u specs for gpu and cpu so a full comparison can't be made yet. but let's go to the facts: on the bolded part what imaginary memory are you talking about? ps4 has 8gb and wii u has 2 gb and there was no information about how much ps4 has for games. and even at the most probable 1.5gb vs 6.5/7gb you still disconsider the 32mb of eDRAM wii u has, wich surely compensates for having less memory. also, devs only complimented wii u's memory and it's low latency so i wuldn't worry. next are raw numbers. wii gpu was exactly like the gamecube's, using a completely different architeture and only had 11 gigaflops of processing while xbox360's had 240 gigaflops and much more advanced resources for the architeture. that's a 20x+ difference. Now we have ps4 wich is modern architeture and has 1.8 teraflops and wii u wich also uses the same modern architeture and has unknown gigaflops. but even at a worst case scenario we could say wii u gpu process 500 gflops wich is about 3.5 less than ps4 and an even smaller difference against rumoured nextbox specs. I can't see how that's a bigger difference than wii vs ps360, specially when we reached a point where that difference will be hard to notice on actual games. |
The specs for the Wii U are known, and so is the memory allotment. These aren't grand mysteries to last the ages. You can literally bury yourself in technical jargon if that is what your heart truly desires, but trust me when I say you don't need to go there. The broad stokes tell you the same story as the minutia. The PS4 is vastly superior in just about every regard. Anyway if you want to delve into such detail. Here is a good thread to do so, and it has been kept fairly up to date.

Nintendo has made incremental improvements with the WII U. While Sony is swinging for orders of magnitude with the PS4. Nobody disputes that the Wii U fares well against the existing consoles at least spec wise. It after all has twice the memory of a PS3, but a PS4 has fourteen times as much memory. It really is david versus goliath, and that goes for just about anything. You shouldn't even be arguing against this.
