Many times, a lot of that friendzone stuff seems to occur because a lot of guys hope that, by being her 'emotional crutch', she'll eventually get her panties all wet and want to sleep with him, but it doesn't work like that, attraction isn't a rational thing.
Plus, the guy would just be an ass, pretending to be friends, a good listener, etc..only in the hopes of getting into her pants (not saying all guys that get 'friendzoned' act like that, but most likely a lot of them).
If you're interested, make your intentions clear...didn't work?..too bad, but remember the world's a big place.
