Not really a fair comparison seeing as the Gamecube had Smash Bros. Melee within a month of its launch. People just need to give the Wii U time. I fully expect a Nintendo Direct at or near the time of E3 with trailers for 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Wind Waker, Pikmin 3, Wii Fit U, Wii U Party, and Retro's secret game. They'll have demos for 3D Mario, Mario Kart and Wind Waker for sure and then nearly all of those will likely release within this fiscal year....along with The Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends and a few other great third-party titles. If this coming Christmas season comes and goes, and Wii U STILL isn't selling well even WITH a 3D Mario or Mario Kart title, plus ALL of those other games to help flesh out the library, THEN we can worry. But until then, it's just a matter of patience I think.

Plus, either way Nintendo will be fine. Did anyone see the latest trailer for Pokemon X and Y?...confirming diagonal movement, seemingly adjustable camera angles, customizable characters, rideable Pokemon, a truly 3D open polygonal world, and much more dynamic battle animations? That plus Zelda during the holidays equals 3DS DOMINATION! Japan ALONE could keep Nintendo profitable this fiscal year just on the strength of 3DS and the releases of Pokemon X/Y and Monster Hunter 4.
