If I recall correctly when the 360 launched my friend had a beastly rig and it already outdated what the 360 was able to put out in terms of visuals on day one. Granted when I played Oblivion, and GRAW those games to me looking amazing. Usually the first year consoles are out they have very nice looking graphics. Though years later some games still surprise me: Halo 4, Crysis on consoles, Gears of War, Uncharted, God of War, etc.
It's just that simple.
