Well it does not talk abut massive extinction per se, even though in noah's ark its common knoledge that God was angry at what the world had become... so he told noah to take one pair of each animal into his ark and navigate for 40 days and 40 nights. That would be the "massive extinction" Alex would be referring... But that story is really flawed... neither could noah have reunited animals from all continent in his ark, nor could he have built an ark that could hold every species in the world. Im a catholic guy, and I know my church's mythology... I consider myself agnostic, becuas eI believe there is a higher being... But I think its something like Chrono Cross in which an external being (an extraterrestrial) helped develop and activating human intelligence and evolution... I also don't think we are being watched by this hypothetical being.. he just came, changed us and never looked back. I also have a very hard time trusting whatever the church tells me, becase of what they did in the dark ages... Also any affirmation loses a lot of credibility when you use God as an answer, so it would be wise to left religion out of this... (it is also really controversial)
