The show is doing stuff so wrong.

Melisandre -never- meets the brotherhood, never meets Arya, never meets Gendry, Gendry is still with the brotherhood several books onwards, and he never finds out who his father is.

Theon still has a cock, he is made to have sex with -someone- many times several books later.

Sansa never finds out she is marrying Tyrion until she is given a dress and marched there on the day she marries him, she was to wed a completely different Tyrell because Loras actually wanted to and became a Kingsguard knight.

Jayne Westerling The Valerian tart is meant to be back at Riverrun with the Blackfish with a certain something.  Is GRR Martin fucking up the mystery in his books by just deleting anything that makes you think or wonder from the TV show?

Martin has minimal input on the show, he writes a script for one episode a season.  The writers have created characters, substituted and completely changed characters.  Much of this is to simplify or remove subtlety as many viewers are already lost by massive cast.

I get the complaints as a fellow book fan, but knew from the beggining that it would not be identical.  I take the show as  aunique entity, and one I've been pleased with 90% of the time.  I am grateful every day the dozens of pitched film ideas did not take and Martin at least gets 10-20 hours for a book instead of 30 minutes.  Is it perfect? Not at all.  Do I still enjoy it? Absolutely. I waited so long to see Westeros come to life and accept the compromises within it.
