we can blame the (liberal) president pretty much for any little thing that happens. That's what politics has proven to me.

That don't mean we should blame him for everything, it's not like he's a dictator with supreme power. If anything blame your congress for any problems, the president is more of a rubber stamp to approve policy than anything
