I love the Vita. Incredible piece of hardware, honestly. The screen is beautiful, the controls are excellent, and it has a ton of quality downloadable games. Seriously, there are a LOT of great games on the system. The only problem is that those games aren't the big-budget kind you can really advertise.
The funny thing about the Vita is that it's a wonderful casual gaming machine. My last three games played are Flowers vs. Zombies, Pure Chess, and Thomas was Alone. However, because it was marketed toward the core, I don't think a lot of people are aware that it has a lot more to offer than just PS3 crossover games.
What the Vita needs is a price cut IN CONJUNCTION WITH a game that can be used in major advertisements. I'm confident that will come eventually. I think the Vita will get another push later this year and we'll start seeing some cheap bundles, especially with the sports games.
Sony isn't going to abandon the Vita any time soon. It will probably be around for as long as the PSP was. I think it will end up selling a fair amount of units late in its life-cycle.
