Patience my friend, patience. You have wait for the games release and you have wait for a game to stock on shelves. Some download stores actually let you start downloading a game in advance before the "unlock" it for play
No, the big thing for consumers is the after market value for the game. I know developers and publishers hate the reseller market because they see zero dollars from that but I hate the idea of them being able to control the price of a game that you don't agree with. There a crap load of games that should not even have a MSRP they do. Digital download prices means no bargain shopping because there is only place to get it (legally). If you don't like the game, tough turkey, you are stuck with it. You can't get credit for a download game that sucks or at least not for you. On the opposite side of the spectrum there is a lot of games that you want keep a longer period time, past the life of the console itself. Its currently a lot easier to hold on to a copy of hard media than it is to hold on to a hard drive that can crash/die or a download file/system that is no longer valid.
Yes it gives more of the money directly to the developers but it leaves out the consumer options that I personally am not willing to part with.
