Well just like Badgenome said SMT is owned by Atlus and Kutaragi-san is just like an advisor  but with Index Holding (parent company of Atlus ) is having toubles lately. It's not farfetched to think that Marvelous Aql could aqcuire Atlus if Index Holding keeps on losing money.
