aikohualda, you don't need to smoke anything. Just look at the numbers and do some calcs:
- Sum up all the SW sales in Japan for PS3, X360 and Wii. Do the same for the Western markets. Compare both numbers (the ratio should be 13-16 to 1).
- Pick up a sample of 10 or 15 of the Western best sellers (videogames produced by Western companies that sold well in the world). Sum up the sales from Japan. Do the same for the Western markets. Compare both numbers (the ratio should be 25-30 to 1).
This means Japan is not a significant market for Western products like X360. Sure it is a great market...for Wii, for PS3, not for X360 (or any other Western console that wants to try its luck on Japan).
