Nintendo relation with the West is not as bad as Microsoft with Japan

well yeah, pretty much. It is still a big market on its own, but when you consider that their gaming taste is totally different than in the rest of the world, Japan becomes a niche.

japan is still the second largest market in the world (per country) in terms of video games...... yeah if you put japan against the rest of the worl it becomes a niche..

Third in HW sales, UK took second place.    Japan is not irrevalent no country really is but in the next ten years I don't see the market growing in Japan I see it rather go down.  While the most markets will be still growing.

to microsoft it really is.  the question is what will they do about it next gen. and for how long.  although they could easily make xbox japan its own entity and write it off as a loss. japan will never support the xbox at a 1/4 of the percentage americans support the sony's and nintendos.  americans want what they want and buy it.  i am not some buy american dweeb but it is what it is.  as cited before the xbox goods are in the american dooky pile.  if americans had that same sentiment against the others the other countries wouldve went bankrupt a long time ago
