If one of the studios that EA owns happens to release several games that don't sell in a row, then why complain that EA has shut them down? The studio was nothing but dead weight anyways. When there's a developer that releases a good game though, then why purchase used when you can support it. By not supporting an actual good release, which sounds like you're stating, then EA laid off all those people because of you, or those that refuse to support the developer only because it's published by EA. And how has EA given everyone a right to hate them? Did they run over your dog and drive away? Did you get a phone call from the hospital saying that EA raped your mother? Or by some chance did you personally, or someone you know happen to work for a company that was purchased by EA and you or them got laid off? EA hasn't "actually" did anything to most of the haters. There's no video game developer out there that's actually "did" anything to gamers for them to actually "hate" them. They're regular who work on or publish games. Now there might be a reason to be bothered by issues that happen, but to completely avoid a good game that you want to play and only purchase it when it's used because it's released by a company that has had issues like any other company is clearly showing what a bunch of douchebags are living in this world. If a company develops a crappy game then I'm a bit skeptic regardless of the company, but if they develop a quality title, then I don't give a damn what company it is, I'll support the company for that quality title. EA screwed up with Sim City recently, wouldn't work properly. But the issue was fixed in a matter of days. Less than four days infact. The early adopters got a free game of their choosing over a game that worked but had problems. One was less than a month old. Another less than six months. PSN in the past has been out a couple days in a row, it's also been out for a month. I only got free games when it was out for a full month. Did any 360 fans get any free except for a replacement 360 when they received a RROD and had to wait a week or two to finally be able to play more g ames on the console? That's more than four days. Other developers have issues just like EA, but let's just take a look at some specifically and see how it played out. If you were a PS3 owner and you purchased Dead Island you got a game that was more of a bugged mess than Skyrim. The framerate is so bad that it actually hits 0FPS and this is just during regular gameplay at somepoints when absolutely nothing is going on. Deep Silver then releases Riptide. You think the issues have been fixed? Nope. Screen tearing for PS3 players, constant frame drops. As someone who enjoyed Saints Row the Third, I was hoping EA would get it because I know future games in the series will receive solid ports and it doesn't matter system I'm on, I wouldn't be playing a broken mess. With Deep Silver getting it, Saints Row 4 will be fine since it's going to be the same engine, but what about Saints row 5? Do I need to purchase this game on the PC? Who knows. Bethesda on PS3 games. Don't even need to go into detail. Eat, Sleep, Play, on the development of Twisted Metal. Huge fan of the series and I really liked Twisted Metal, but you couldn't get in a match. If you got online it worked well. It's just that by the time you could actually get online regular, six months after the games release, there was no community left to play with other than the less than 100 players that still frequent the title. An amazing game and probably the series has been killed because of what went down with Twisted Metal. SuperBot. A brand new developer, so that's definitely the time to prove what you can do. Their very first game is a bugged piece of garbage. Game crashes, netcode is horrible, etc. Six months later and Sony gets fed up with them and close them down. The same stuff still happening. It's not until a month later that one of the issues that's been happening since launch "has actually been fixed." Patch 1.02 actually caused the game to not work at all, meaning people had to wait until 1.03 a day later. 1.03 caused the game to crash everytime a landmine was placed with Fat Princess on PAL versions, so they had to wait a few days for 1.04 to be released. Constant issues with every patch. Capcom releasing the same game endlessly, their on disc DLC, etc. You might say Call of Duty(Activision) is the same game every year, but the games actually have different locales, etc. Capcom is actually releasing the same game with maybe a few new areas, a few new quests, a few new fighters, etc. Warner Bros just started buying up developers and publishing games. Every Vita game they've released has been nothing more than an upscaled 3DS game. Gameloft has not released one game that isn't absolute garbage. Ubisoft publishes the Vita version of Gameloft's Dungeon Hunter Alliance which was priced at .99 on the iphone and MSRP of $9.99 on PSN as a $39.99 PS Vita release. The Walking Dead Survival Instinct. Need I say more? There are many other companies that make bad decisions with game releases, but as long as those developers continue to release good games I'll support the games they release that I'm interested in. With all the faults that companies make, maybe one day people will see how immature and hypocritical they've been. Maybe when the haters are out of school and see how real life is they'll realize that they have more important things to be upset about than a gaming company that screws up once in awhile.. |
LOL.
Please tell us more about how "haters" are "immature and hypocritical" and should basically "get a life" while you catch feelings and throw around insults over opinions on a message board.
I don't support EA because they have been on a course this genration of nickel and diming customers at every possible chance at the expense of game quality and game content. It doesn't matter what franchise you look at, the strategy has seeped into virtually all of them. I eventually got tired of paying $60 for half assed games that release with bare bones content but always have day one DLC and/or an online pass and tons of DLC out immediately, even for SP games. Hell they now even start to market the DLC before the actual game is even released.
So, I will wait and buy the game used. If the game is good and the inevitable DLC is worth it, I will buy it. They make money off of me that way. No one is upset in this equation. It's simply a choice I make as a consumer.
