Let's wind it back a bit. If Sony had released a system that resembled the Wii-U, and Nintendo was set to release a system that resembled the PS4, I would be buying the new Nintendo system instead of the new Sony system. My point? The Wii-U was marked with red flags since it's announcement. Many of it's current woes were anticipated by a large group of the "hardcore" gaming set, easily anticipated I might add. I feel if you bought the system in the hopes that it would somehow transcend it's obvious limitations, you'd have to be an unbridled optimist, or a bit too much of a brand loyalist. And as far as ports go? It's only going to get worse. The differences seen now will seem tiny next to the massive disparities that will manifest once the PS4 and next XBox launch and kick into gear, until such time, sooner than later, that ports cease to occur at all. Book it.

would you say its kinda a similar situation to Wii? In terms of seeing the obvious woes that system would and did face.

Similar? Yes. Identical? No. The difference being that the Wii-U will most likely never shift close to as many units as the Wii. With the hardware disparity still present, the port situation is even more dire for the Wii-U. P.S. Want a slice of pure internet hell? Try posting on VG using a PS3 like I am. It's so bad I'm ready to pull my testicles off.
