"Grown up thing to do". Allow me to disagree there. Real life worries and issues are far more worrying than a videogame, and I agree. But I repeat that something you like getting spoiled will always gave you a bitter taste, unless the bitter taste is a sweet taste. Nothing is written about tastes. It has nothing to do with a grown up thing.

You shouldn't thank them though. I never discussed the achivement Uncharted was. I pointed out what the other user was complaining. He wanted something more like Jak and Daxter but got disappointed with ND because of Uncharted. I just said that was Sony's fault. You shouldn't thank a company that pressures it's first party developers into changing their original concepts because of market share and mainstreaming quality. Especially not since Naughty Dog has proven previously to be a very creative studio.
