Oh, wait. You're talking about chatting beforehand with a player so that we go straight to the battle.

Apparently, Nintendo doesn't like connecting a Spanish player with anyone elsewhere in the world. It does work...good, if you're playing against another Spanish guy.

Luckily, from where I am, I could have decent brawls with anyone in Canada or the US. I must have clocked 400-500 hours online with relatively few horrible lag moments.
