I find this line of argument ridiculous.  If they were a recent acquisition, sure, there could be an element of "EA didn't have a hand in it".  Criterion have been a part of EA for 9 years.  NFSMWU wasn't some covert undercover operation they did while the evil eyes of their slave drivers weren't watching.  Blimey.
