No, you're not a monster. Unfortunately, we've been conditioned to think that whether or not a game (or any media for that matter) is fun or good is purely objectively measured, when in fact all opinions are subjective. What you may find boring, another might find fun, and vice-versa. But the internet (and message boards are probably the biggest contributor) is constantly reinforcing the idea that quality and enjoyment should somehow have a consensus among everyone.
We don't decide our opinions; they just happen. They are a product of our own tastes, ideas, and environment. The late Roger Ebert once said "A good review should tell you whether or not you would like a movie (or a game) regardless of whether or not the reviewer did." If you don't enjoy a game, that doesn't make you a bad person, or make it a bad game. It just means what appeals to one person may not appeal to another.
Ignorance of this fact is what leads to message board arguments, which are ridiculous, because you can't use arguments to change subjective opinion. If people argued you were a monster, would that make you less bored with Mass Effect?
If other people like Mass Effect, good for them. But that doesn't mean you need to feel bad for having different opinions.
