im currently playing farcry 3. and i am literally doing EVERYTHING. at some point i HAD to continue the story missions because there was nothing left to do.
but on topic, if the game is good and it takes use of open world games then yes they can be amazing. but just being open world doesnt cut it for me. and i dont understand the complaints about other games not being. it depends on the game. games like uncharted would suck if they were open world
though open world games can be very awesome. Red Dead is one of my favorite games of all time. Vice city too. and far cry 3 is nothing short of amazing. Assassin's creed 2 is amazing as well.

Wow I just recently got it too. I literally go around trying to clear those outpost silently with my sniper rifle. It is just so satisfying to do that. Ya some games wouldn't be that good with open world unless it was designed for it. The corridor thing was more of towards ff13 since it was one of the most linear rpg I have ever played. It was litterally a one way corridor from point to point.

the snipers are sooo cool in this game. clearing outposts are amazing. i do the same thing, silencer on my spiner and take them out. though recently i started being more creative. i go to a high position, mark the guys with my camera. if i can go in stealth with melee, then im all over those son of bitches. if there is an animal cage i sometimes use it. but one time they were all close together, i took out my RPG and BAMN! i took those sons of bitches DOWN! this game is SO fun!

i never was interested in JRPG's so i cant comment on that FF13 thing lol
