From my brief experience at Gamestop, that's exactly how it works. We carded kids if they were alone, but they never were, it's always the adult buying shit like Mortal Kombat for their 11-year-olds

I remember there was one parent looking at one of the Assassin's Creed games, specifically at the descriptors under the ESRB rating, and said that the "sexual themes" was what made the game unacceptable and not, you know, being an assassin...
