With all due respect you are just generalizing. Not all shooters are created equal. Some are more "immature" than others.
For example Unreal Tournament was probably targeted towards the college crowd but Gears was made with the 14 yo in mind.
Same with God of War, you have gloriously intricate mythology and you use it to make a shaved gorilla who is limited to splitting heads from torsos.
