Interesting thought. Kinect 2 would give Xbox 720 an advantage over PS4.

well I think their main reason for having it is to negate Kinect. Now even if Kinect has a higher resolution or works a little better they can still advertise and act like they have all the same features.

what could MS show that can't be emulated through PSeye? It's better than the Kinect camera if I remember a spec comparison correctly and I don't think MS will be making it a super advanced camera or they would be losing a lot of money to keep that system affordable (yes MS has money to lose but that doesn't mean they want to or are willing to have an unprofitable system). Sony will just say "we can do that too" and show demos like Kinect 2.0 demos. Then again more people are signed up for Live than PS+ so maybe MS can convince people they have a superior service no matter what.
