The first Metro was VERY demanding, so this isn't too shocking. 

Is the first one worth getting?

Yes, very much so. The atmosphere (and visuals) were some of the best of their time. Beyond that, if you like horror games, 2033 has its moments!

Downloading Metro 2033 right now!!  Half way done. Should be done in 30 minutes or so.
