And according to the Independent, "the violent crime rate overall was down by a quarter in the same time period, from 1,255 crimes per 100,000 people, to just 933".

 

Still more than the U.S, which is at 386.3. If we excluded urban areas, the U.S is probably as safe as the safest European countries, lol.

It's why I always laugh when Canadians and British Islanders talk about how dangerous the U.S must feel. Yeah, only in the gun controlled zones of Chicago and New York City is it dangerous. 

Yeah I imagine rural areas are safer for the most part. That's the same where ever you go
