While that's true, it's only half of the picture. It's more complicated than that. The Vita is struggling, but it's against a rival that had already found its groove before the Vita was even released. The Wii U, on the other hand, is struggling against old systems, with it's same-gen rivals releasing later this year. Those rivals are going to steal all the publicity and will probably blow the Wii U out of the water in terms of big third-party releases. Yes, there are positives in the Wii U's situation but there are also negatives to consider. |
Oh, i'm not saying Nintendo can't blow it and make GC-type versions of their big first party games (semi-experimental stuff like Wind Waker or Mario Sunshine), but if Nintendo gets it right, then what the competition is up to shouldn't especially matter. You're not going to get Mario Kart on the PS4 or Fusion (?) no matter how much hype they run in on.
Nintendo could also screw up the promotion of said games, too, but if they really are determined to at least get the device in a respectable position, they should easily get at least their fair share this run.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
