The sales numbers here are, at the very least, incorrect for the Wii U (Nintendo reported 3.06 million units sold within the first three months). Can't comment on the Vita.

At any rate, I would hold off on calling either one "disastrous" or "doomed" until we're at least a year into their life cycles. Remember, PS3 was selling worse than either of these within its first five months, and has now almost caught up to the 360.

Regardless, I would call the Wii U's situation much better at this point, simply because we know that sometime in the future (whenever Nintendo decides to get off their couch and do some work) the Wii U will have its share of good games. Pikmin 3, SSB4, a 3D Mario, a new Zelda, FE Crossover...all of these are games that have the potential to sell systems. The Vita doesn't really have that at the moment. The Wii U's situation will almost assuredly get better down the road (assuming Nintendo doesn't cancel everything), but the PS Vita...I dunno.
