I wish Insomniac the best...maybe they can get a better Publisher next time....or back to Sony ?

Don't bank on a next time, the way the economy and videogames industry is. The norm now is that, your studio doesn't produce a hit, and your franchise doesn't have a champion to give it another shot, you are shut down.  MAYBE you personally land on your feet, but your team is likely broken up.  Do not bank on Insomniac EVER going back to Sony, but some people MIGHT get hired back by Sony.

That is the game.

As for Fuse... meh.... NOT going to speak bad against it, but I am not really in a buying mood.  Building up a cash reserve is more appealing personally to me.

Tey'll go back to Sony if there is a mutual desire to bring Ratchet and Clank to PS4 / Vita. But outside of Ratchet and Clank you're right, Sony and Insomniac are done. Although, if Fuse flops, the value of Insomniac goes down, Sony could actually buy them and own them outright.

For Fuse to actually work it needs to have some humour. Insoniac are really at their best when they are funny. The one worry about the voice work on the trailer is all the character sound like grizzled badasses. This game needs its versions of Stinky Pete, Captain Quark, the Groovitron, and the Sheepinator, slgihtly toned down of course because this isn't a cartoon.

When Fuse was overstrike, I did like the humor.  They went all serious on it, which makes me miss it.  Now they can't really do parody.  Hey, maybe it works, but it ends up seeming like EA wants to have its answer to Borderlands and Gears of Wars with this.

The thing now about the business, with the amount of unemployed talent about, is that unless a studio has IP that is wanting to be acquired, they don't buy the studio.  Look at what happened with the likes of Vigil and Darksiders.  Vigil is no more.  Crytek ends up hiring back a number of the former employees under a new studio name.  Without IP of value (aka IP that sold) all that is wanted is the talent.  Everything else doesn't matter at all.  This is why Insomniac doesn't get bought if Fuse fails.  Doesn't mean that Sony won't hire back talent they hand pick though.

So, what is Insomniac minus Fuse these days anyhow?

Ratchet and Clank. If it gets made into a successful movie (doubtful) then another (proper) Ratchet and Clank game on PS4/V is a certainty. If the Ratchet and Clank movie bombs (or never gets made (more likely)) then a PS4/V R&C game is still on the cards. But yes, Insomniac does need to find itself a multiplatform IP that will sell well for it to be worth anything to anyone other than Sony.

Who owns the rights to the Ratchet and Clank IP?  If it is Insomniac, then they could get bought for that IP.  If owned by Sony, then they have nothing.  Same would go with Resistance.  Who owns the IP?
