Breaking: Nintendo sends direct message to Wii owners asking them to upgrade

It's just sensationalism to play this off as a move of desperation. It's another channel for Nintendo to spread the word, why not use it?

To be honest though, how many people actually check those messages? My Wii has been sitting in the attic of my parents' house for the past couple of years.
