I'd be amazed if Vita doesn't get a decent price drop in the West at E3.
Really if they're serious about making the system a go-er. The bundles will start being sold for £149.99 to make it an easier choice to make between Vita and 3DS given that 3DS currently has the higher profile lineup.
I certainly think with Jak and Sly Cooper trilogies, Invizimals and Epic Mickey 2, Sony is gearing up for a more "family/younger" oriented appeal going into this Christmas. The current price point would make such an approach pointless as parents would look at a £140 3DS/£180 3DL XL vs £230 Vita and just go straight for the 3DS without a second thought.
RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
