Even Sony didn't disclose the Q1 (Q4 2011 in fiscak year) numbers for the last year... just the 22.5 million smartphones shipped in the FY2011 and the they shipped 7.4m, 8.8m and 8.7m in the Q1, Q2 and Q3 FY2012 respectively... so I don't expect Q4 2012 to be bigger than 8 million. My prediction is ~6.8 million (I think it is a good jump from Q4 2011 that we don't have data but to make only 22.5m in the year the sales in Q4 was really low).

They will absolutely sell more than 8 million!!
The Xperia Z sold 4.6 million in 40 days alone, probably all counted in the first quarter since it had a staggered release since february.
