Interesting, if true. I can't think of a reason why they'd make a big title an exclusive, not if they think it would have strong sales. Even Microsoft couldn't make up for the hundreds of millions of dollars they'd be losing out on with a true exclusive, especially if sequels are planned. That's a massive amount of money. Seems like a really odd, short-sighted move.
Perhaps they don't have a lot of confidence in the game on it's own in a crowded shooter market? And Microsoft is pledging large-scale marketing support and a golden parachute in case the game fails to meet expectations? That's all I can really think of to explain something like this.
From a personal standpoint, I don't like exo-suits or mecha in my FPS games and multi-player only games aren't my cup of tea.
