March 2011 in US, price cut in August.
Roughly the same amount of time has passed.
Alas, Nintendo is not doing a price cut like they did with 3DS. 3DS was originally sold at a high profit. They're already selling Wii U at a loss, so a price cut is simply not an option. They have an enormous holiday lineup they're announcing at E3, so the sales situation will change dramatically between now and October/Nov/Dec. Wait and see.
