Yes, Ascension is stunning. Lighting as I said looked fantastic. But everything else I just found to be inconsistent. Most areas looked nowhere near as good as that boss fight (much like GoW3 and its first boss) Combined with the worse AA coming off of God Of War 3. At times Kratos's character model just looked amazing, other times though..he looked like shit. I agree though, it has the PS3's highest highs. As far as bugs go, I guess everyone is going to have had a different experience. God Of War had been a flawless experience for me until GoWA. And gameplay, well..Having just beat GoW3 on Titan before playing Gow:A; just felt rough. Controls didn't feel as responsive. Kratos felt weak, getting smacked around by lowly enemies. (maybe that was the point as this was a prequel) and as usual collecting the chests/orbs was too easy lol. Still enjoyed the game. This is one of my favorite 5 franchises so I will be eagerly awaiting the next God Of War. But this game was without a doubt the weakest console GoW. |
He always looked fantastic to me. At times he did look slightly different but still he always looked amazing. I'll leave you alone with the bugs even though every God of War game for the exception of III I found to have more bugs than this. I found God of War III a little to easy at times even some of the boss fights but that made sense with Kratos being an unstobbale beast. Whereas I actaully found some difficulty with God of War: Ascension (something that the reviewers kept nagging about) and throughly enjoyed it. The single player experience was longer and tougher giving me more bang for my buck. As for unresponsive controls I never had that issue when playing on Hard, Medium and Easy but I haven't played Titan yet so I can't tell.
