Your point? It's still going to be pushed as an Xbox. Unless they want to start of some large market campaign to sell it as a streaming device that can also play games off of Live (a feature that didn't really improve Windows 8 sales.) This just seems like another product that MS has launched too late to really make much of an impact. I mean if this had launced in 2009/2010, then it could have had an impact. As it is, they are 3-4 years too late and there is way too many devices out there that do the same thing. You have Roku (which has become one of the more popular ones), Apple TV, Western Digital Media Center, Boxee, YouView (in the UK), Sony's SMP-N200, Google TV, as well as every Smart TV that is being sold, now. Also, I would imagine most would just pay ~$50 more to get a real 360 that does everything this device can do, as well as play EVERY 360 game and DVDs. Or if Sony brings the 12GB to other regions for ~$149, which may end up being the same price as the Stingray, I can DEFINITELY see people picking one up, instead. It would have all the popular apps, and be able to play PS3 games and DVDs/Blu-rays. |
I pretty much agree with everything u said and also im not sure if people r quite ready for all digital, alog of people would still rather own physical copies of games
