Playing God Of war 3 and Ascension back to back was a little awkward. Graphics seemed to go backwards in a lot of areas. (Lighting was better but character models really looked shit a lot of the time and the IQ was terrible after God of War 3.) Gameplay nowhere near as smooth. The game was surprisingly buggy, A first time problem for me and GoW. Boss battles nowhere near as good (That last fight was AMAZING though) and the Story was weak.

Still enjoyed the game a lot, no more rush jobs though, Sony.

GoS>GoW3>GoW2>GoW1>GoW:A>COO

WTF?

Ascension is easily the best graphics on a PS3 game that is undenibale. Just compare the first boss fight with each other.

The lighting and textures seem much smoother in God of War: Ascension than God of War III. And based on these two videos the character models looked much more far more superior in God of War: Ascension.

It did have some sound issues (but they were fixed), hardly and bugs especially when compared to God of War I, II, Ghost of Sparta and COO. Although slighlty more than 3.

Gameplay less smooth!?? I really don't know what to say to you...

But I agree God of War: 3 has a much better story (but we all play games for gameplay don't we?) and the boss fights were more entertaining.

Yes, Ascension is stunning. Lighting as I said looked fantastic. But everything else I just found to be inconsistent. Most areas looked nowhere near as good as that boss fight (much like GoW3 and its first boss)  Combined with the worse AA coming off of God Of War 3. At times Kratos's character model just looked amazing, other times though..he looked like shit. I agree though, it has the PS3's highest highs.

As far as bugs go, I guess everyone is going to have had a different experience. God Of War had been a flawless experience for me until GoWA.

And gameplay, well..Having just beat GoW3 on Titan before playing Gow:A; just felt rough. Controls didn't feel as responsive. Kratos felt weak, getting smacked around by lowly enemies. (maybe that was the point as this was a prequel) and as usual collecting the chests/orbs was too easy lol.

Still enjoyed the game. This is one of my favorite 5 franchises so I will be eagerly awaiting the next God Of War. But this game was without a doubt the weakest console GoW.
