I plated the 5 other GoW and pretty much loves everyone of them but what's going on with Ascension? I'm about half playthrough now and I'm really disapointed.  I changed my controller 3 times coz I was thinking they were broke, but no, it's the gameplay.  There is no fluidity, the dodge roll is worst than ever and unresponsive. You pull a stick, push a button at the same time and nothing register.  You mash the button 1 time too much and the move will compute 2 seconds later...  We got some crazy camera angle from time to time.  And the story?  Dunno...  Gotta kill those 3 bitches?  I dunno...

Now God of War: Ascension does have some problems but I haven't experienced some of your complaints.

1. I thought the combat is more fluid than ever, never felt like the dodge roll was unresponsive. Also pushing the analogue stick with a button press works perfectly every time for me, I use it a lot as well as doing so cancels out the dodge roll animation allowing for faster movement.

2. Yes I agree that the camera angles aren't always ideal but it's rare that they make it hard to play. The only times I had problems with the camera is when fighting the Hekatonchires and fighting whilst riding the giant snake to delphi, it's perfectly fine for the rest of the game.

3. Well those 3 bitches you have to kill are the Furies (Erinyes). They are after Kratos to punish him for breaking his blood bond to Ares, there's is more to it, SPOILERS:

........................ Alecto (fury Queen) and Ares planned to overthrow Mount Olympus but needed the ultimate warrior to help them, Ares knew of the prophecy of the marked warrior taking down Mount Olympus (either Deimos or Kratos) and due to Deimos being imprisioned and Kratos' mark Ares believed he was the one. So Ares needed the Furies to help him keep Kratos under his control. You also learn at the end of the game who took Kratos' family from Sparta and placed them inside the temple in Athens where they were accidentely killed by Kratos....................... That's all I'll say, I've probably ruined it for you but at least you'll understand what's going on now.

I think you'll greatly apprecitate the new game + mode (as long as you're finding all the artifacts) as it great improves the gameplay with the option to have the rage meter constantly at its max and to have the game do the QTEs automatically. You'll also appreciate the story more on the second play-through (as I did).

And I actually agree that the single player is weaker than past installments (with the multiplayer being to blame for cuts & lack of polish) but it's still pretty great overall and the multiplayer is really fun & addictive.
