Oh man, a DVR type recording setup would be so far superior to "share" or "highlights" imho. I want to record entire Guardians of Middle Earth games, entire Madden games, entire CoD matches, entire Motorstorm races, not just a few moments of each.

I don't see how it would be superior. There are positives and negatives to both. The big negative about DVR is that it isn't free. DVRs usually come with a monthly cost. Will that factor into XBL Gold subs? Who knows. The positive on having DVR functions is that it would be able to record more than just games like your cable TV shows which would be a huge plus.

The PS4 feature allows for 15-minute recording sessions doesn't it? That's enough for a whole COD match. The feature is supposed to be instant sharing so I'd say 15-minutes strike the right balance. Who wants to wait for hours of video to upload? You want to quickly upload your video and then continue playing. Do you ever see Youtube videos longer than that? Most are under 10.

What if you want to do "walkthrough"-videos with commentary on Youtube? There are already a lot of them and many are longer than 15 minutes. To me NextBox will offer the same as PS4 does at least if we are talking about uploading videos. I think you can decide how much you will upload to youtube on NextBox...

Well PS4 has UP TO 15-minutes of recording. You can trim and edit that before you upload. If the NextBox allows for hours of recording then it would be perfect for walkthroughs. I guess if you're into that then its the console for you. This can't come cheap though, hours of recording will take a toll on system resources.(Ever used Fraps?)  LIke I said before, pros and cons. They both have them.

It comes cheap if the nextbox has a chip to perform the action which if you go by the VGleaks, it does.

Can you post the link? I haven't seen any detailed descriptions on this DVR feature or how it works.
