 No, they'll be unified, and that's also hearsay - that has been said many times and a new breakthrough in copper processing will happen.

Also the 010101010 method of processing has had so many evolutions over previous years.  They still have a huge areas of gain to move into which will come from using optics rather than copper.  Optical motherboard and optical processors.  Once that happens, that is the peak but there are many areas of the computer that can still be tuned with optics.  The problem again is storage... it may not be able to be stationary and they may just compress light into a space and leave it moving... that's where I see the next big steps coming from and they will be BIG steps.
