| D-Joe said: Sigh Paul Thurrott's "no idea" quote is if the thinks the system will become a useless brick without the internet. Nope
Not just he said "no idea" more than one time, and the first one asking him is not only "if the thinks the system will become a useless brick without the internet",it also include "So will games be playable without an internet connection?"
Kotaku: Like I said, all devs aren't created equally. One might have been told about it, while the other wasn't. Nope, they cleary said it will/it won't/only for TV etc,and it's not from developer "What We're Not Sure About The Next Xbox: That it requires an "always-online" internet connection. This one's strange. We've heard from some sources that the console will definitely need to be online to start playing games. Others have said this isn't the case. Some are even suggesting that it's the console's entertainment and TV capabilities that will need this, not your games. Because of this confusion, it goes in the maybe pile. http://kotaku.com/everything-we-know-about-the-next-xbox-480112913
Same goes for VG Leaks. Nope http://www.vgleaks.com/microsoft-xbox-roadmap-2013/ Why the hell developer would make a roadmap for MS? Oh wait,we can't believe VGleaks now, right?
The only one thing i know right now is you don't even try to serach datas, even it's already in this thread, you just choose what you WANT to see |
Thurrott isn't going to outright confirm anything and is just going to shrug off questions with "No idea" because he doesn't want to get Orth'd. He is smarter than that, and it would either get him or his sources canned in a hurry. This is the only data concerning Thurrott in the thread aside from the OP:

Sorry I don't want to comb through Twitter posts and replies, I have better things to do with my life. We can probably call it a wash on credibility if we throw out everything except Thurrott and VG Leaks, since we can probably agree that they have the most reliable info. Polygon had a thing today saying that it includes always on DRM, but is left up to the developer, much like Sony and the used game thing. That could be what he meant by "It isn't as draconian as many think." All I was saying is that his sources are far more reliable than the majority of the other ones. His information is much more recent than VG Leaks' as well, just saying.
You do have to notice on the VG Leaks thing that they say "We have received new information about the latest Xbox Roadmap" and not "We were provided with the latest Xbox Roadmap". There is a difference, the former suggests they are adding to the information that they have been leaked concering the direction MS is going with the Xbox, while the latter confirms that it is official Microsoft planning.
Grains of salt everywhere, as always.
