While I think it's way too early to predict who's gonna "win" or "loose", I do pretty much agree with OP, though I'd say even 7750 GPU (which performs around level of 4870, what lot of people were hoping for/expecting) plus AMD quad core CPU would be more than enough to give 3rd parties platform that is very easy to port to, both current and next-gen titles.
As for Wiimote + ProController combo, IMO that would be way better solution than Gamepad - instead of better innards they spent that money on something that is not such a system mover as they hoped for and by not having Wiimote as default, they denied themselves Wii Sports alike launch titles that proved to be main force behind Wii's success.
