Yup. Some examples came to mind:
Trine 2: I had the Platinum before I had finished the game.
The Walking Dead: Platinum for playing the story, really.
And many others.
Other day I completed 1,000 online fights in Dead or Alive 5 and earned a trophy for it without noticing it, so it was absolutely not a grind for me. Street Fighter IV had a trophy for 500 online fights and I overshot it by over 4k online matches.
