If this term actually exists Id say yes.
I play challenging games from like all genres that exist. On like every console out there.
And I dont base "hardcore" on random online people that I can meet that might kick my ass. If the game is hard on its own right then its a "hardcore" title.
Mainstream games with multiplayer modes where some people have no life and therefore kick my ass are not "hardcore".
I mean I can always find a person thats better than me in doing whatever I might want to do e.g. farting or taking a sh!t or whatever does this make this real life activity more "hardcore" than anything else? no of course not.
