Nextbox is a placeholder name for the system, far more descriptive than 720, unless someone believes Microsoft loves going round in circles. It does make some sense, but then I keep thinking it will be getting all the DLC for the latest Bioshock game though (half tongue out emoticon here).
The name had been rumored actually.
