I am from a Lutheran Church, we believe Catholics are going to Hell- Sorry .... a simple question.

This is true. Nobody deserves to go to heaven and nobody will earn the right to be there by living a certain way. Only by the Grace of God can we be saved but we do need to accept his grace by believing in Jesus Christ in order to be saved.
