Things like purgatory and limbo for unbaptised babies... those are superstitions and traditions more than bible-based beliefs. Also, if you are Christian - any Christian - you should believe that no group, even non-Christian goups, are doomed to hell. You should believe that any good person will have eternal life. If you don't, read the good Summaritan story. There's lots wrong with the Catholic church. But for most Chatholics its like any other Christian church, they go, they learn about Jesus and right and wrong. They don't have some big loyalty to the pope or anyone else. And a lot of what is thought about Catholics by non-Catholics isn't true. |
The good Summaritan story doesn't suggest that anyone and everyone will be saved. It suggests that anyone can be loved and saved. But you have to belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord an Savior to be saved.
