I am from a Lutheran Church, we believe Catholics are going to Hell- Sorry .... a simple question.

You have to accept Jesus to go to heaven, that is what the Bible says. The Good Samaritan is in hell.

And as long as you have accepted Jesus, you can be forgiven for anything you've done in your life, so some Christians who have done lots of evil are in Heaven.

anways, please tell me, where in the bible does it say you have to do "good works" to get into heaven, because it certainly doesn't say so in the versus i just linked you.

 

Revelation 20:12-15

 

12 And I saw the dead -

large and small -

standing before the throne,

and the books were opened.

And another book was opened,

which is the book of life.

And the dead were judged from what is written in the books,

according to their deeds.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;

and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:

and were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.

This is the second death - the lake of fire.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life,

was cast into the lake of fire.

 

that verse is right, you will be judged based on your works, you will get rewards for doing good things, and you will be punished for your misdeeds, but none of that has to do with getting into heaven.  I can see where your confusion lies though.
