I was joking there a bit. I would say Ronaldo is the most individually talented player. Messi is perfect for a system that when it does everything right allows him to shine like a player has not in a long time.
Tiki taka was born from Netherlands and Total Football of the 70s Ajax sides and the great Cruyff brought it to Barcelona in the 90s (continued by Dutch managers there that followed). Not sure what it has to do with South America other than possibly the emphasis on possession. I equate it more with the Dutch and Spanish than Brasil or Argentina.
Xavi and Iniesta are brilliant players who allow Messi to shine, but I wouldn't discount his remarkable talent either.
