Selling 50 million consoles was unheard of before unless you were nintendo. PS1 and 2 totally changed the game...
Selling 30 million Genesis consoles, in NA and Europe only (japan was a non factor for genny) was huge at the time. I'd love to see NA Genesis sales compared to Snes...they are probably neck and neck.
