No matter what though, I actually am starting to believe that eventually we will see a Monster Hunter game on Vita. Sony won't abandon this handheld. It took the Ps3 2 years to finally take off, after years of people calling it terrible and the next Dreamcast. I believe in Sony.

PS3 actually had relevant 3rd party support from the get go (announcements like FinalFantasy 13, FFVersus, DMC, MGS etc.pp) and thanks to X360 ports it never had a software problem. This was because most publishers bet on PS3 and invested accordingly even before the gen started due to coming from PS2. Sales were mediocre in the beginning but most people made it clear that it was mostly a price issue and that it will do well when the price falls down to a more mass market friendly point. So I don´t agree with this revisionist retelling of past events.

Regarding PSV the differences are a completely different 3rd party support and Sony not giving there all with their 1st and 2nd party efforts, and their top studios show no interest in changing their attitute towards handhelds.

FF13 turned 360, FFVersus still hasn't released, and DMC is 360 now also. And idk about you, but back then, no ps3 game was really that good ported from the 360. Im pretty sure that was the days of the most terrible ports ever. It was a price and games problem. Only game really worth owning until maybe Uncharted or MGS4 came out was Resistance. If you can name any other games that were on ps3 from 2006 to about 2008 that wasnt released after MGS4, then go ahead. Im going on first hand experience when I got my first Ps3 in 07.

Isnt that the same problem with the PSV though? Pretty sure mostly everyone who doesn't have one said they would get one if the price was lowered and memory cards were lowered. Just look at Japan and their price drop. The audience is there, just like it was for the Ps3.
