End of the day mate, you're spot on with the OP and I won't mince my words :D

If we even need to debate if it made a comeback or not - Then it obviously didn't!

A "comeback" should not be open to question or need answering...by it's nature, where on earth has there ever been a comeback that needed explaining or could be questioned, a "comeback" is visual, it's obvious.

THIS ISN'T!!!!!!

So stand up for yourself and unload :p your evidence in the OP is more compelling than any crap after it!

Very good point! A comeback shouldn't be something debatable, because it's very obvious when one takes place. Steadily increasing sales isn't a comeback. A sudden surge in sales is - if it can be maintained.

I am standing up for myself; Farsala bowed out of the discussion in a graceful way, so there is no need to keep going after him. He didn't leave in a bad manner, so why not acknowledge that? =)

Of course people are going to debate this.  Not everyone shares the same opinion.  And even if the PS3 was at 115M right now, you would still have 360 and Nintendo fans talking about how it doesn't matter, since Sony lost all that money, so it's not really a comeback.  Therefore, they can never claim victory or comeback for this gen.  This was, of course, the topic of another PS3 didn't have a comeback thread.

But a comeback shouldn't be debatable, really. And if the PS3 manages to sell way past the Wii I'll concede and agree that it made a great comeback. Because that's what it was. IF it does so within a reasonable time limit. Say that it continues to sell for another 10 years and only then manages to sell as muc as the Wii... that wouldn't be much of a comeback.

And I argue that it didn't have a comeback because it never did really badly in the first place. For a comeback you must have done quite poorly to begin with, which the PS3 didn't.

It's all a matter of perspective really.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
